What causes chest acne?
Chest acne starts when pores clog with oil, dead skin and bacteria, the same as on the face. On the chest, sweat that sits on the skin, friction from tight tops or sports bras, heavy body lotions and hormones often keep it going. Your doctor helps you find which triggers apply to you.
Is chest acne the same as fungal acne?
Not always. Fungal acne (Malassezia folliculitis) causes small, itchy, uniform bumps and does not respond to standard acne treatment. Chest acne usually has spots of different sizes, blackheads and sometimes deeper, painful bumps. A dermatologist can tell them apart at the examination.
How much does chest acne treatment cost at JRYN?

Can laser remove chest acne scars and marks?
Brown marks usually fade well with pico toning, and redness can be treated with a vascular laser. Rough texture and shallow scars respond better to RF microneedling such as Potenza. Deep scars improve but rarely disappear completely.
Is there downtime?
Usually very little. Extractions and peels can leave the skin red for a few hours to a day. After RF microneedling, expect redness for a day or two and avoid saunas, swimming and intense exercise as advised.
