What causes lines above the upper lip?
Repeated pursing of the lips, smoking, sun exposure and the natural thinning of skin and lip volume with age. Genetics also play a part. That is why many people who have never smoked still get these lines.
Is Botox safe around the mouth?
Yes, in small doses placed by a doctor. The mouth muscle is used constantly for talking and eating, so the dose is kept low. For a few days some people notice drinking through a straw feels slightly different.
Can filler fix lip lines?
Filler helps when lines come from lost lip volume or a flat lip border, and the effect is immediate. It does not stop the muscle from creasing the skin, so it is often paired with a small dose of Botox or a skin booster.
How long do the results last?
Botox around the mouth usually lasts a few months. Skin boosters improve the skin over several weeks and are often repeated as a short course. Filler can last many months. Results vary from person to person.
Is there downtime?

Can I stop lip lines getting worse?
