Hormonal Acne Treatment in Busan, Korea A doctor-led plan for jawline and chin breakouts that keep coming back
Hormonal acne tends to flare in the same places at the same time each month. At JRYN Seomyeon, a doctor works out what is driving it, calms active breakouts first, then treats the marks they leave. Your plan and price are confirmed at consultation.

What is hormonal acne, and how is it treated?
Hormonal acne is breakouts linked to hormone changes, which make oil glands more active and pores more likely to clog and inflame. It usually shows up as tender spots along the jawline, chin and lower cheeks, often flaring around periods, stress or changes in contraception, and it is common well into adulthood. Treatment combines skincare and, where suitable, medication to slow new breakouts with in-clinic procedures that calm inflammation and fade marks.
At JRYN Seomyeon, the doctor first decides whether you need medication such as isotretinoin or a referral for hormonal treatment, then adds procedures. Listed options include Aqua Peel ₩50,000 for congestion, pico toning from ₩20,000 for dark marks and Potenza from ₩149,000 for scars. Acne laser plans are priced at consultation.

Hormonal Acne Treatment FAQ
Still have questions? Message us on WhatsApp and we will answer in English.
What causes hormonal acne?
Changes in hormones, especially androgens, make oil glands more active. Extra oil, dead skin and bacteria then clog pores and cause inflammation. Common triggers include the menstrual cycle, stress, starting or stopping hormonal contraception, and conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome.
Where does hormonal acne usually appear?
Mostly on the lower face: the jawline, chin, around the mouth and lower cheeks, sometimes spreading to the neck. The spots are often deeper and more tender than teenage forehead acne.
Can a skin clinic treat hormonal acne?
Yes. A dermatology clinic can calm active breakouts with extraction support, cleansing and acne procedures, prescribe medication where suitable, and later treat the marks and scars. If a hormonal condition is suspected, the doctor may suggest you see your own doctor or a gynaecologist as well.
How much does hormonal acne treatment cost at JRYN?
It depends on the plan. Listed related prices at JRYN Seomyeon include Aqua Peel ₩50,000, pico toning from ₩20,000 per session and Potenza from ₩149,000. Acne laser and medication are priced at consultation.
Is there downtime?
Usually very little. Aqua Peel and pico toning let you go out the same day. Potenza for scars can leave the skin red for a few days, so plan it earlier in your trip.
Will my hormonal acne go away for good?
Not always. Because it is driven by hormones, it can come back when your hormones shift. Treatment aims to make flares smaller and less frequent and to stop marks building up, with maintenance care as needed.
Can I start treatment while visiting Busan?
Yes. You can have a consultation and in-clinic procedures during your stay. If medication is prescribed, the doctor explains how to continue safely after you go home, and you should follow up with a doctor there.
