A Vampire Facial is a PRP facial. A small amount of your blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets, and that plasma is applied to the skin during microneedling so it reaches the tiny channels the needles create. Does a Vampire Facial hurt?
Numbing cream is applied first, so most people feel pressure and light prickling rather than sharp pain. The blood draw feels like a routine blood test.
Tell your doctor if you are sensitive to needles so the plan can be adjusted.
How long is the downtime?
Expect redness and mild swelling for about 1 to 3 days, and dry or tight skin for a few days after that. Most people can go out the next day with sunscreen.
Avoid makeup, saunas, swimming and intense exercise for the period your doctor advises.
How many sessions do I need?
For glow and mild texture, one session can help. Acne scars and enlarged pores usually need a course of sessions spaced several weeks apart.
